​Violist Caroline Castleton’s doctoral dissertation topic was Rebecca Clarke as a performer. The fruit of her work can be found in this volume of arrangements by the composer herself, used in recitals and broadcasts during her career. Featuring three arrangements for viola and piano that Clarke created from works by Percy Grainger, Hubert Parry, and Stanley Marchant, the music also includes a cadenza Clarke wrote (and pasted into her music) for the third movement of the Handel/Casadesus B minor viola concerto.
