A contemporary of (and perhaps an inspiration to) Mozart, Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, was a Classical period violinist, composer, and fencer. His three sonatas were written in 1770, and published in 1781 by LeDuc in Paris. The G minor sonata has a tempestuous first movement, followed by an elegant minuet in rondo form. This is a true duo sonata, rare for that period, with an equally prominent violin part. Great fun to play, and mainly 1st-3rd position!
PDF file contains both violin and piano parts.
